You can talk personally with senior faculty and representatives from all 21 Ontario universities, much as you would at a university tour or open house. Last year, more than 130,000 students, parents and educators attended the event.

Instructor

Karen Heisz is a former high school science teacher with a Diploma in Organic Land Care from Gaia College and Sustainable Urban Horticulture and Agriculture certificates from University of Guelph. A passion to share her love of nature, of gardening, and of practices that sustain and improve nature’s biodiversity with others makes Karen a valuable member of the teaching team.

50+ Everyday Fashion Workshop

ECC older adult member, Marilyn Cole, will be here to answer your fashion questions, and give tips and advice for fashion that makes sense and saves cents. She will share ideas on updating your closet without ‘breaking the bank’, help you figure out your personal colours, tell you where to shop, and share the latest fashion ideas that will work for you. Bring your favourite scarf to learn new ways of tying it. You’re also welcome to bring in pictures of your own clothing for advice on how you should wear it. Marilyn’s background includes makeup artistry, modeling and owning her own salon.

Drop-in Lecture Series: Philosophy Café – Philosophy & Spirituality in Aging

A practical philosophy course on readings and discussion of philosophies from the Western and Eastern traditions. We renew the age old purpose of philosophy which is to help us solve life’s troubles, to find meaning and to flourish in our given path.
