Eligibility: Big Brother or Big Sister volunteers -- men and women 18 years and over, 17 years and over for most school-based programs - Little Brothers or Little Sisters -- boys and girls 6-16 years
How to apply: Meeting with mother and son, or father and daughter - eligibility assessment
Physical access: Office in wheelchair accessible building including main entrance and barrier free washrooms - designated and street parking close to entrance
Service description: Original Program -- one-to-one mentoring program
  • Volunteers and Little Brother or Little Sister share hobbies, sports and everyday activities
  • School-based Programs -- mentoring programs held on school property
  • In-School Mentoring Program -- one-to-one activities using school facilities such as the library, computer lab, gym, arts and crafts area and staff room
  • CO-OP Program -- secondary students 16 years and over enrolled in a cooperative education program become Big Brothers or Big Sisters and are matched with up to 8 elementary school children
  • Group Program -- monthly prearranged and prepaid outings for volunteers, Little Brothers and Little Sisters
